Patch 0.2.0g made major changes to loot, comprehensively improving the drop rate of Rare items and POE2 Currency. Expeditions and Delirium loot and event-specific loot have also become richer. 1. Unique Boss Drop Protection

Previously, you might have had some bad luck, such as not getting a natural Rare item after killing Unique Boss. Now, except for some Unique Bosses at the beginning of Act I, all other Unique Bosses will drop a Rare item after your first kill.

2. Azmerian Wisps

In POE 2, Azmerian Wisp’s rewards were not rich enough, and the rarity of the items was not high enough. After the changes, the combat experience with Azmerian Wisp has been improved a lot, and the monsters possessed by it will drop a rare item.

In addition, the developers have fixed the problem that the first Wisp in Grelwood had no item rarity or quantity stats. These changes to loot make it easier for us to get rare items and excellent gears.

More importantly, some loot drops are exclusive to Azmerian Wisps, which means that even if you buy POE 2 Currency, you are not sure you will get them. With the adjustment of the chance of loot drops, you will not be disappointed every time.

3. Rare And Magic Chests

Previously, Rare and Magic Chests have been lacking in appeal and excitement because of their abundance. Ideally, players should be eager to open them every time they encounter them in the game. Now there are some changes:

Magic chests have greatly increased item rarity and quantity, and are guaranteed to open at least one Magic item. Rare chests will also always open at least one Rare item. Even in Cruel Difficulty, the number and rarity of treasure chest items can be increased by 50%. Plus, since chest rewards will be 100% more rare in the endgame, this change will completely change your loot list!

In addition, the map mod that originally increased the chance of Rare and Magic chests to drop treasure has been changed to a fixed number of Rare or Magic chests. But the increase in the chest dorp rate has made up for the lack of fewer chests.

4. Strongboxes

Strongboxes are used as a baseline, and their rarity has been improved to match the rarity of Rare chests. The items and rarity have been improved as follows:

Rare items are guaranteed to be opened in Strongboxes. Under Cruel Difficulty, the number and rarity of items will increase by 50% and 100%, respectively. Moreover, Researcher Strongboxes drop Rare currency instead of Magic currency, and the drop rate is greatly increased. At the same time, the difference in the number of dropped items has been reduced, and players can steadily open many items.

5. Trial Of Sekhemas

  • Regular Bronze chests now have the same base rewards as Rare chests in Normal Difficulty campaign, and will always drop a Rare item
  • Arcanist’s Chests have the same drop structure as Researcher’s Strongboxes
  • Items and rarity in Silver and Gold chests have been greatly improved
  • Jewels and Currency drop chances have been greatly improved
  • Increased chances of getting Silver and Gold keys from room rewards

6. Trial Of Chaos

Corrupted Item rewards have also been slightly improved in endgame, as you level up in Trial of Chaos, corrupted rares will disappear from rewards, Rare Currency will gradually increase, and items dropped in Trial will no longer corrupt.

7. Expedition

  • Expedition Magic and Rare chests now have the same base as other endgame Magic and Rare chests
  • Normal Expedition chests have also been improved
  • Buffed the rewards from most Expedition Remnant mods
  • Doubled the number of Expedition Artifacts that drop
  • Increased the amount of Exotic Coinage that drops by +50%

8. Delirium

Delirium items are now roughly 2.5 times more rare, with each tier increasing in rarity.

9. Accessibility To Pinnacle Content

The difficulty of entering Pinnacle content has been reduced, which makes it easier to find loot, and the chance of loot dropping has also been increased:

  • Breach splinter drop rates have been increased by +50%
  • Delirium splinter drop rates have been increased by +80%
  • The chance of finding An Audience with the King in Ritual is increased by +50%

10. Corrupted Nexus

Some changes to Corrupted Nexus are as follows:

  • The number of Corrupted Nexus required to complete Atlas Passive Skill Tree has been reduced
  • Each Corrupted Nexus provides 5 skill points
  • Corrupted Nexus visibility has been improved, even from a distance
